our history
CHS Robotics was founded by Miguel SuVasquez in September 2007 with the help of advisor Charles Williams. Our only other mentor is Robert Wulffe, a highly experienced engineer who generously interacts with students. Rookie year was an amazing year for us filled with both ups and downs. We gained a lot in terms of a memorable experience at our first regional (Silicon Valley Regional) and managed to earn the Highest Seeded Rookie Award. All the work during the first season was done inside Mr. Williams' classroom however. For the second year, we asked administration for another space to build a robot. We were given room 906, which was dubbed "the Roboshack" due to the close confines and numerous pieces of machinery.
As the first and only robotics team in Cupertino High School, our goal is to provide students with opportunities to learn hands-on engineering and team building processes that classes would not be able to offer. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and hope to join everyone together to explore the marvels of engineering and business management. Although much of the year goes towards member training, we participate in the annual FIRST Robotics competition to further involve our students in robotics.
