 | | Name: Abhishek Kumar Sophomore Division: Chassis About: I am Abhishek Kumar. I am smart, funny, and very creative. I love Robotics because I love to build and design various things. |
 | | Name: Chris Hsu Junior Division: Control System About: I joined robotics in my freshman year and have been in the club ever since. It's a great way to enjoy time with friends while working on something together (and eating several hundred dollars worth of snacks over the years). |
 | | Name: Edward Lai Junior Division: Control, Team Lead About: I've been in robotics since freshman year, but didn't participate that much. In my sophomore year, I began to learn about the smaller details of the club including working on the control shelf. This was led by William Huang at the time (and is probably still the team lead spiritually for this year's control shelf), I learned a lot about the robot that year and hope to succeed even more this year. The food in the roboshack is really dry, but it's okay. I'm not a huge fan of pretzels. |
 | | Name: Eric Jang Junior Division: Officer (Co-President); Business About: Robotics has shown me what real problem solving is - hard work, but well worth it! I don't get as much sleep as I would like to. In addition to administrative duties, I manage a lot of the non-technical aspects of the club: writing grant letters and organizing fundraising. |
 | | Name: Lawrence Luk Junior Division: Manipulator/Odd jobs About: Not everyone can boast three years of Robotics membership, but I'm one of the lucky ones. Although I was unable to participate actively in my first build season, I have taken efforts to shift my time from badminton and homework to robotics, which requires more and more work since Mr. Williams and Mr. Wulfe must focus on eating Bon Bons. There are a great many jobs that I have held, from chassis team last year to manipulator and gopher this year. Having a very diverse background and with a huge influx of new members, I have been bounced around from group to group, making me a critical backup guy for any team. Anything that needs to be filed, cut on the bandsaw, have a hole drilled through it, or persuaded into position with a hammer? No problemo.
My advice regarding snack foods: avoid anything that you did not personally witness being brought in. You cannot trust some of the pretzels; at least one bag in the pantry has been there since our inaugural season. |
 | | Name: Nathan Hui Junior Division: Website; Mechanical Engineering About: I joined CHSR in my sophomore year because I had heard about the opportunities it involved, such as being able to learn programming and metalworking. Since then, I have given up programming for Robotics(I like AP CompSci better, and C++ is not too hot), but I've become more involved in the hardware aspect of the club. Since the beginning of junior year, I've been working on maintaining and improving the CHSR website as well as maintaining shop equipment in the Roboshack. I've also been working on this year's chassis team. |
 | | Name: Richard Son Freshman Division: About: I like robotics because it provides a team building expirience. My favorite part of robotics is seeing the robot grow. |
 | | Name: Roger Wang Junior Division: Control System About: "I myself have been a part of robotics ever since my sophomore year. As nice as the free food is, I personally find the most enjoyable part of robotics to be what it truly is: a collaboration. No matter how hectic it is to try to meet that tyrannical deadline, it is always fulfilling to know that I am contributing [in some, small, way] towards the completion of a project with the friends who I enjoy, and people whom I respect.
P.S. and that extra carb/sodium intake from the pretzels does wonders for the waistline." |
 | | Name: Siddhant Dange Sophomore Division: Software and Chassis About: I like doing robotics because I like programming, and putting together parts in order to make something more out of it. My favorite part of robotics is the build season, when times are busy and there's always work to be found. |
 | | Name: William Huang Junior Division: Officer (Co-President); Control System About: I've been in Robotics since Freshmen year and have been a part of amazing build seasons. I have been known as the "cable guy" on occasion. If you want to work on the computers or with wires, talk to me! |
